Individual & Group Volunteer Information

Click here for information on what to wear/bring, an inclement weather plan and more information.

No prior construction experience necessary! Fort Hood Area Habitat welcomes volunteers of all skills levels.

Site supervisors and trained assistants will be on all build sites to provide task & safety instructions.

FHA Habitat makes every attempt to remain on schedule and avoid adjusting build schedules. However, it is possible that a group's originally scheduled shift location and/or task will change. Such changes will be communicated to the group leader immediately. Thank you in advance for your understanding & cooperation!

Due to the high volume of group requests, FHA Habitat reserves the right to limit the number of build dates a group can reserve.

All construction volunteers must be at least 16-years-old; no exceptions.

Some tasks have an 18-or-older policy (roof work; some vinyl siding shifts; etc.). The age requirement is specified for each shift.

Task restrictions for 16 & 17 year old volunteers:

  • Cannot work at heights 6 feet & above (no roof work!)

  • Cannot participate in demolition tasks or crawl space work

In addition to the RELEASE OF LIABILITY WAIVER, all 16 & 17 year old volunteers must submit a hard copy of the MINOR RELEASE WAIVER completed by a parent/guardian.
